Citroën CX
The Citroën CX, which was launched in October 1974, had the arduous task of being the successor to the legendary DS. While less revolutionary than its predecessor, the CX nonetheless garnered a lot of attention with its aerodynamic body and futuristic dashboard. This consisted of an oval instrument panel flanked by two satellites for the control buttons.
The CX also heralded the first diesel engines in the Citroën range. And Citroën even turned sporty with the CX 2400 GTI in 1977 and the GTI Turbo in 1984. The CX was also available as an estate car and was used as a base for a wide range of special models. Some even had a dual rear axle.
