- We have colour cards and the codes of all the original paints used by Citroën. That way you can be certain that your DS will be repainted in the right colour of your choice. You can also choose another, non-original Citroën colour.
- To avoid differences in colour during partial repaint jobs, we always start by checking a painted part, to determine the exact composition of the paint.
- We can also paint parts that you can then assemble yourself. E.g., parts that need replacing because of rust or damage.
- Naturally we only use top-class products to guarantee a top-notch result.
Rust is quite possibly the greatest enemy of any classic car and your Citroën DS is no different in this respect. Unfortunately desperate situations call for desperate measures. Sometimes minor welding is sufficient, such as welding a new inner panel or part of the underbody. But sometimes more radical interventions are necessary, such as the replacement of the sills or the entire underbody. The kind of job that is best left to professionals.
CQS Classics always uses the same method. Together with you, we take a critical look at the car, after which we send you a quote of the parts that need replacing/welding.
Then our experienced welders set to work. They use top-class parts and the right materials. And they take the original welds and spot welds into account. This is the only way you can avoid situations such as doors that no longer seamlessly close after a restoration.

Already in the early sixties, Citroën toyed with the idea of a sports variant of the DS, a project which received the code name ‘S’. At some stage, it evolved into a specific model. When Citroën acquired Maserati in 1968, it finally also found the engine for it exclusive granturismo. On 11 March 1970, the Citroën SM was shown for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show. Its name derives from the project S designation, and the M stands for Maserati. Soon this elegant sports car became known as Sa Majesté.
The Citroën SM was launched at a time that the Marseillaise, France’s national anthem, was played with even more pride than usual. Like Beaubourg and La Défense, two architectural gems in Paris, and the Concorde aircraft, the SM became a symbol of progressive technology. It was one of the first cars whose body was developed in the wind tunnel, the first front-wheel drive GT and one of the first European cars with pioneering air conditioning. It also had a unique ‘light box’, with a six-headlight set-up with automated, dynamic correction.
Unfortunately the petrol crisis, which followed soon after, sounded the death knell for the Citroën SM. Production was halted in 1975. “The SM was born from speed and died with speed”, according to Citroën. A mere 12,920 SMs were produced during its lifetime. Every SM should therefore be treated with the utmost care, which CQS Classics can offer thanks to the knowledge that it accrued over the years of this unique and complex car.
